Metro Mile

Well another race under my belt. This weekend I ran in the Metro Mile. The results were ok, ran a 5:12 (5:11) without rounding up:)!! Finished second for the women behind chantelle who has beaten me four times now. I really thought i could get her this weekend but was unable to. Didnt feel terrible during the race, but just couldnt get my legs to that last notch. To top it off, I was in front of my dad the whole race until the last one hundred meters when he decided to kick past me!! that fu@#er! He also finished second for the men and we both walked away with 50 bucks in our pocket not too shabby! This coming weekend we will both race in the coal creek cross country challenge, a true test of strength and endurance. The race is 5.72 miles and is hilly. This will be the furthest distance i have ever raced before. Wish me luck!!! welp, unitl next time...keep it real!

Ty and Maddyn's accidents

Here are some photos to sum up my accident prone kids!

Its been awhile

It has been a while since my last post. Not much going on. Since then i raced in the broomfield days 5k finishing fourth overall and first for the women. I was a mere five seconds behind the old man so i am slowly creeping up on him! I am now gearing up to fun the metro mile next saturday and the coal creek challenge on the 11th this race will be the longest distance i have ever raced at 5.75 miles, looking forward to it sounds like a fun course. Also there is a little prize money available for the top three places, gotta love that! this week I had a good week of training did hills on tues and 1000's on thurs. Running the thousands in 3:31,3:30, 3:28 and 3:26 first workout that has felt good in a while.
Lets see on a family note...Poor maddyn broke her arm...again the second time in four months so that totally sucks. She was playing soccer so that put an end to that after only practicing one time. She could care less however she doesnt slow down one bit from it. She will get it off on the 8th so only two more weeks! and Ty what else can i say except he is a walking accident and honery as hell. The other day he smacked his head on his bed and has a nice little dinger from that!:) that kid i swear! If he falls nine times out of ten he is landing on his head!
Pat and I just had our four year anniversary so that is pretty cool i cant believe how fast time goes. We went to dinner at the outback and watched a movie! (go figure)My husband is the best and I am very thankful for my beautiful family we have created together! I pretty much just love my life.
I guess that is it for now. Until next time...thats right, keep it real!

NEW 5k PR

Well another PR set, happy to see my training is paying off. Labor day i competed in the CU Kickoff Classic and ran a 18:04 bettering my previous best time of 18:18 i set a week earlier. Unfortunately team Japan was there and i was unable to win the female race I did however take third overall beating three of the Japanese runners! Hoping i can break that 18 minute barrier soon. Broomfield days 5k is on sept 19th and that will be my next 5k race. I am getting mentally prepared also to take part in my first 10k ever. Right now i am either going to run one on sept. 27th in denver or wait and run the eerie erie 10k rather than the 5k i usually participate in. Body is feeling good and workouts continue to go well, hopefully I can keep this going up until the holidays when i will take a short break to keep my mind and body happy and healthy! until next time...keep it real!

Maddyn is growing up!

Well this week was a big week for the dude! She had her first day of school on Tuesday and first soccer practice wednesday and then back to school today (thurs). She seemed to enjoy both and was excited to go back to school for her second day. However her response to the question "what did you guys do today at school" on tuesday was..."nothing!" Just like me already doesnt care to spend the energy on explaining what she did. She did talk a little more though about it as the day went on. She met a new friend, Rayza or so this is the name she gave her... who knows though with names people have these days. As far as soccer goes she did pretty good a little timid and shy as she is one of two three year olds on her team and the others are 4 and 5. Hopefully she will improve each time still is trying to grasp the concept of the rules of the game and that she cant bend over and pick up the ball when ever she wants to!:) Next up for the busy bee will be on monday when she runs in the little kid track meet in boulder. she is way excited for this she has been waking up every day since last weekend asking if she is racing today. well until next time...keep it real!
i will post some pics after i get them downloaded!

New PR

Well i know i said my next race wasnt until labor day, but my bff kate found a race with cash prizes this past saturday and i had to give it a go! I was first female in the 5k and ran a two second pr of 18:18, still think i can come close to breaking 18 on the right course. Saturdays course was flat and pretty fast it just had a lot of sharp turns, which i would like to say slowed me up a bit maybe 10 seconds or so. Dad was suppose to race but got sick so that sucked because i was going to try and let hime pace me at a 18:00 5k, maybe on labor day! That will be my next race, looking forward to it and hoping it is a fast course. Oh yeah i did end up walking away with 125 cash in my pocket after the race, not too bad for 18 min of work:) until next time...keep it real!
